This section of the website presents the results of a study carried out in 2008 by the Direction générale des hydrocarbures et des biocarburants (DGHB) du Ministère de l'Énergie et des Ressources naturelles (MERN), which concerns the evaluation of the gas potential of the Utica and Lorraine shales in the St. Lawrence Lowlands. More specifically, this study was aimed at doing a regional characterization of the geochemical and mineralogical composition of the Utica-Lorraine sequence. |
